Sometimes I have trouble hearing the TV over the heater. When it finally shuts off I feel like I have it loud enough to hear from down the street at Hobby Lobby. One bonus of having the heater on is that I've become accustom to it being so hot that the outdoors don't seem too bad. If everything seems a bit sarcastic tonight it's probably because on a scale from 1-10 my mood reading is about a C-. From the way it's acting I think my phone may burst into flames soon...so don't let it surprise you when you see it in National Enquirer or something similar. I rented Pretty Little Liars the first season since I read the whole series this summer so I guess I'll get back to my marathon. Back in Lubbock tomorrow evening after work for what I'm sure will be a funfilled weekend...hopefully involving BINGO therapy.

Annual Christmas Cruise
Well in order to make myself feel productive today I did a little research on cruises for our annual winter break cruise. This year will make it the...4th year in a row we've gone. I absolutely LOVE cruises-as if that weren't obvious in my choice of study abroad. I've found a few options for this Christmas so hopefully we can narrow it down soon. I hope to get one with places we haven't been but regardless it'll be a good time.
Today I also did some searching for a Halloween costume. Urg that's a hard one. So many cool costumes and I only need one! I see more browsing in my future. I don't have to work tomorrow so hopefully I can get all caught up.
Wish me luck!

Baby Smith-future niece/nephew of me!
I'm gonna be an aunt! My best friend of 19 years is about 9 and a half weeks pregnant with her first child :) I'm so happy for her and her husband and I know they are thrilled. I also know they are a little nervous but I think most new parents are to some extent. So for the next 7 months (roughly) I'll be doing a "series" on the pregnancy and keeping you all up to date.
This is Baby Smith (as we will refer to him or her) at 8 weeks. Technically just an embryo but I believe this Friday Baby Smith will be a fetus! I've already started making plans and shopping for my future niece or nephew but I really wish we knew the sex. We won't find out until December (yes I mean we...it's a big deal people) but I feel like every other person in the world doesn't have to wait this long! Maybe it's just because I've never been so closely involved :) I've also made lists of names (boy and girl) for Ashlyn and she actually likes some of them-not that it should be a surprise since I've known her so long. Auntie Paige is going to spoil this baby...oops!

Join Dropbox!
Everyone should join dropbox! Its a very cool/cutting edge way to save pictures, documents etc. You can access your saved things from any computer so you wont ever lose anything again! (ok I mean as far as things you save on a computer...you can still lose other things)
http://db.tt/ntCTKK8w
use this link and I get more space! Then pass along invites for your own free additional space. I think if you use a school account they'll give you even more :)

Five Thumbs Up
After writing my movie and music reviews I have deemed myself qualified to review just about anything I want. I'd like to start off by saving I absolutely LOVE Living Social and Groupon. There are some amazing deals available on both of them. The other day I bought 6 laser hair removal sessions for $99...normally priced around $1700. I also bought a few facials at a newer place in Lubbock called Affordable Skincare. I was extremely impressed with their services. They were very friendly and the atmosphere was pretty laid back so I didn't feel uncomfortable being there. Instead of feeling pressured to purchase lots of expensive products I can't afford, they gave me samples of what they used for me to bring home. I definitely give it two thumbs up...or 5 stars, however I'm supposed to rate these things :)

Old School
The past few days I've been getting some extra hours in at work since my bosses are out of town. Today I spent most of the time I was there cleaning out this very dirty room full of old files. What I really wanted was to throw it all away but I do realize when running a business there is a certain amount of paperwork you have to keep. I do not however believe an update for MS-DOS is necessary. I have an update for MS-DOS...it's called Windows. There was also backup disks for the newer Windows. By newer I mean `95 and by disks I mean 25 separate floppy disks. I'm glad I'm finished with it for now because it seemed to only serve the purpose of frustrating me further. I have a feeling a weeks worth of sleep would help my frustration problem.

RaNdOm
Well I think I got everything done today that I needed to do before I leave tomorrow. I'm going in to work early so I can get on the road asap. Sorority event tomorrow evening that I plan to go to if I get there in time and can find a vehicle. Also took my first test which I'm glad to have out of the way...too bad after a test is lots more reading :-/ The essay contest I mentioned in an earlier post ended today so I got my stuff together in time and now I just have to wait until Jan when they release the winners. AH thats a long time. If its any type of indicator, while reading my essay to check it over a last time I was moved so much I cried. I'm so impressive ahahaha. Anyways I'm going to bed early but I will leave you with this random assortment of 10 things I believe.
It may as well be fact...
1) Cheese Its and Cheese Nips are completely different
2) Above mentioned Cheese Nips are gross
3) Unless its one of the high powered ones, hand dryers are not more sanitary than paper because youre going to wipe your still wet hands on your pants as you leave the bathroom
4) If it is something important, you can make time for it (including people)
5) If you say you will do something, you need to do it
6) Men are incapable of multi-tasking
7) A watched pot seriously won't boil...ever
8) I forgive people too easily
9) Football is better live
10) Tech needs more home games

The Only Good Thing...
About September 14th 2011 is that it's over. I just couldn't get it together today. (technically yesterday) The day was just against me from the get go. I'm supposed to wake up early tomorrow to go to the grocery store but I don't see it happening. I'll just have to suffer through the 5 o'clock crowd when I get off of work. I need some sort of magical recovery to take place tonight so I can handle tomorrow. First test opens up for my online class around lunch so I'm going to try to take it on as early as possible. I definitely don't want to worry about it this weekend at home. I got paid today so I'm not too motivated (once again) to finish out the week, but I go in early Friday so I can head home by lunch. I do get one checkmark for the day though-I got my writing done, including my contest essay. Hope they like it! :) I also turned in forms for my great grandma's long term health care so I guess that's 2 checkmarks..

Movies One Night-Music The Next
I had absolutely every intention to be in bed and asleep by now but clearly that didn't work out. I technically am in bed though so maybe a few points for effort. At some point I need to get some real uninterrupted sleep..the kind where you wake up ready to take on the world. Haven't had that yet but if it happens I'll let you know how great it is. When I got home from work today Randal texted me to see if I wanted to go out to the Diner at Sealy Flats for dinner and live music by the Ana Popovic band. I'm not big into blues music but I needed to spend an evening not in front of the tv reading on my tablet. Besides being too loud to hold a conversation her music was really good. The guy on the keyboard really blew my mind. The way his hands moved it looked like he was mimicking how people imagine a keyboard to be enthusiastically played...except he was really playing. Most of the time he was looking everywhere but at his hands, which made it even more impressive. All 4 people in the band played their instruments exceptionally well so all in all...worth the price of my quesadilla and a tip for the band. You guys thought I was kidding when I said I would cover it all in my blog. I now critique venues and bands as well as movies ;) I can do it all so if there's something you want to challenge me to try...I'm down. Anyways after we left Sealy Flats we went to The Wall...happenin' crowd on a Tuesday night. Hung out there while the poker guys played their game. They invited me to play but I was a little too tired to show them all up. Now I'm back at home to be reminded of all the things I should have done instead. Once again...MOTIVATION COME FIND ME. (because sadly I'm not even motivated enough to go find motivation) For tomorrow I'll try to go to bed earlier and not eat chocolate whilst I blog. My exercises would probably be another good thing to add to my list since I was a loser today and did none of that! I also need to do lots of writing and reading for school. Joyous. At least sleep happens before all of that >=-) Looks like tomorrow will be a big day for me...and my sisters as well! 2nd day of recruitment...a weeks worth of events put together by yours truly. A couple of 4ish months planning needing to be executed. Hope it goes well! I <3 my amazing A.O.E. seeeesters :) I'm exhausted now...sweet dreams everyone!

You Can't Find It Anywhere But Here!
Bet ya didn't know you were going to get movie reviews when you decided to read my blog. Well ladies and gentleman my blog is unique in the fact that it's all inclusive...and I do what I want. The benefits of this for yall is beyond your wildest dreams I'm sure. You're welcome. Today I stumbled across a movie on ABC Family called Cyberbullying. Although I think I'm a little older than the intended audience it still had a very good message. Some may call it cheesy but I support the cause. Social Media wears me out anyways. Now I'm watching The Roommate. Less inspiring but it's my treat for finishing my first section of Greek Mythology. yipee! I will however take one of the dreamy male actors in these uninspiring films. It's frustrating that someone has to write a script to make someone that dreamy. On another note I'm pretty sore today after this past weekends hunt..and I don't just mean my ego from shooting badly. I definitely need to get some practice in! This weekend is the alumni game vs Post so I have that to look forward to. Perhaps another chance to do some shooting as well.
In other exciting news my tablet cover came in so it's now pretty in purple :) What more could I ask for? Oh I know...motivation.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have the motivation to do some writing for that contest-and everything else in my life.

All Over The Place
As the 10 year anniversary of the terrorist attacks come to a close all I can really say is I cannot believe its been 10 years. I was a 6th grader sitting in keyboarding class when it all happened. Being in the house of a Fox News watcher I saw a lot of coverage on it and as upsetting as most of it was it's good to know how many people really love this country. Yes when it comes to other states I'll pull the "I'm from Texas and we're better" card, but I'm also very proud to be an American-especially at times like this. Speaking of the ole U S of A...I'm really starting to miss my east coast companions. The rest of SAS as well :( I wish I went to school with them all year around instead of for 26 very short but fabulous days. Good times.
Lately I've become super addicted with some songs I randomly heard on pandora...I was going to share them for your listening pleasure but my tablet is being fussy and "needs charged" :\ Guess it will have to wait! Don't be too upset with me guys it's not my fault ;)

insert clever title here
Not really in the mood to write. Got my hunting license today for the hunt tomorrow. Guess I'm pretty excited about that. My project for the day was to set up the LifeFone system. I hope he never has to use it. The whole thing kinda scares me, and I had to test it and talk to the lady. My Friday night was ever so thrilling-skip bo with Bobby and my common law grandparents Kay and Larry. I was threaten with a slap in the face if I won another hand. I won 2 after that so you can guess what happened.........nothing. Now I just have to get my things together for my 1030 am departure for Crosbyton. Yipee.

Without Connections...
We would be a series of independently standing links…? I don’t know I’m wingin’ it. Bobby keeps telling me I need to get out of the house. Go to the movies or something, but I’m not the kind of girl that goes to the movies by herself. I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with me being a girl either…I don’t think I would do it if I were a guy either. People do it; I’m just not one of them. This whole go to work and come home thing has me convinced I’m not ready to be out of school, but I know that’s not something my dad wants to hear. It’s not that I want to be hanging around the house all day but I’ve been working on this Greek Mythology garb for class. I hope it gets easier-although I’m not sure how it can since the way the class is set up stays the same throughout. Anyways today I decided I would get out for a little while. By a “little while” I mean like 20 minutes but that’s not my point. I went to Target to buy some blank CDs for my newest project. I also bought a white t for work-also not my point but that brings me to another point. I’m a shopper… “going out” for me should really be limited for financial purposes if not for any other. Back to the CDs.. so I met this guy at Warped Tour last year (2010, not this past summer) that is in a band. It’s good music, and not in the “hey let’s throw together a makeshift band and write some hardly thought out lyrics to put to not so brilliantly played riffs (played on our garage sale instruments) we got off the soundboard of my electric piano (not bought at a garage sale…a gift for my 8th Christmas)” sort of way. I have his CD in my nav, bought it off iTunes. I thought about it today sitting in my car and decided it would be cool if I could get them on the radio. Whatdaya know my bff, miss gissa interns for KFMX. I talked to her and I’m supposed to burn the CD for her and get her a band bio so she can “do her thing”. Do her thing is in quotes because I’m not sure what all it entails but once again I’m off point. Although this entire blurb has been nonsensical rambling, I don’t want you to think I lack proper writing skills. If need be I will act in yet another capacity of and write their band bio. Promoting a band can just be another thing I add to my list of completed activities. I want to do it all. Plus, even if this is considered a personal favor from my best friend I don’t think I’ll ever run out of them. Not that I intend on trying ;) Never hurts to know people.

The Beginning of a Bucket List
Bucket List : Live life to the fullest and list a set of goals
Well today was another pretty uneventful day. For some reason I'm exhausted but I'm pretty sure it's not from overwork. Since I don't have much else to talk about I thought I'd share the start of my bucket list. Obviously it's a work in progress. I currently can't think of the other things I had on my "mental list", but I can add them when I do. I'm sure I'll think of new things to put on there as well. If not I guess I'll just have to stretch these 4 things out ;)

What a Bore
Back to work tomorrow after a long weekend. I hope I get to spend some time in my office so I can get a feel for it. Then I can buy cute accessories to put in there! Everyone knows retail therapy is good for the soul ;) Speaking of which, I bought a case for my tablet on the internet the other day. Didn't realize I was purchasing it from Australia until after so needless to say it's taking longer to get here than I originally anticipated. Hopefully it gets here before I drop my tablet. Looks like it's about time for me to retire to my never ending mythology book. For your sake I hope tomorrow is more exciting so I'll actually have some content.
Productivity is Relative, but not a Relative of Mine
I can't decide how I feel after my weekend back home. At the Tech game I was convinced I missed school, but after considerable thought I'm not sure that would be completely accurate. I definitely don't miss the work or the early mornings or crowded buses with drivers that enjoy the occasional "break check". The bus drivers LOVE to throw one into the mix when there are 15 or so people stacked up in the aisle to awkwardly smack into each other. That's always fun. In reality I do miss it every other time I think about it, but the times I don't I'm pretty convinced I needed the break. If I'm not in Lubbock at least I can pretend Lubbock problems don't exist...until the weekend when I return. My love for football will always bring me back, but I'll put in a request now for more favorable weather next game (and for the big hunt next weekend!)
Aside from football and tailgating this weekend I partook in what we fondly refer to in my family as FFF (forced family fun). My brother Alex turned 19 so we went to the Smith House in Crosbyton for an all you can eat seafood buffet in which Ben flung shrimp and french fries all over the floor. We managed some "normal" dinner conversation, like creative ways to hide your weed in things.
*EDITORS NOTE: as far as we know these are hypothetical situations and our ideas are never actually put into action.
<place I wanted to insert picture but wasn't patient enough to let it finish>
One day I'll put a whole strand of photos up that should have gone in previous posts. That way you can be reminded of the wonderful things I have written HA. Speaking of which, I'm working on an essay for a contest about when you first understood what love was. I want to write about CJ but everything I've started isn't up to par. In my head it flows perfectly but I think faster than I can decode and write. Anything I write about him should win if I can say it right. As of late I'm not necessarily satisfied with the outcomes of my never ending rants. O writing skills, where art thou? Either way my brother is great and I can brag because he'll never know. I would worry about his head getting big if (it weren't already physically so) and if he read. The kid has 6,000 unread emails so I'm probably safe. For those of you lovelies that do read my carefully crafted words...thank you, you make the time I'm killing "productive".

RAIDER................POWER
Not much time to chat because I have a game to get ready for. Everyone knows a good game starts with a good tailgate. In our case good is an understatement...we rock tailgating like there wont be a next game. What's cookin'? Ribs...and other delish things to accompany them :-))))) yay!

Distraction After Distraction...I'll Let YouTube Do The Talking
*If the language in the videos could potentially offend you...don't watch them!*
Oh where to begin... today was my first day at my fancy new job. Had to wake up early to go to the mall to buy clothes so I wouldn't have to wear the same thing! Ended up working out and I got some pretty swell deals. I met about a thousand people (even though there are only 3 people working in my office) including the people at the Boer Goat place across the hall...not quite sure what they do over there. Besides having awesome bosses (I would have to consider all 3 of them my bosses), I also have an office. Yes you heard me right, my very own office. Not a cubicle, not a desk in a room full of numerous desks, but a room with one desk and a door that can close me off from the rest of the world. Not that I would want that by any means! My desk even has a computer and a phone. Yes Ashlyn, I am "fancy huh". Here pretty soon I'll have a work email address as well so life just keeps getting better and better. When I came home today I had every intention of takin' care of business-I finished my Sudoku from the paper, ate dinner and then cleaned the kitchen rug with a water hose, laundry detergent and a scrubby brush. I sat down to read some more about the incest Greek gods and goddesses when I got a text from Randal. He wanted me to come over so he could tell me a crazy story. I'm thinking "no I need to read and finish up laundry so I can pack to go home tomorrow..." and then he says "but long story short I quit cross country". I told him this when I got to his house but I don't think he could have told me he was in labor and gotten my attention any faster than he did. The universe is speaking let me tell you what. The same day I start a "real job", Mr. RANdal Nelson Guinn quits cross country. I foresee crazy things happening in the next few days. The story is a long one but here's my one word summary: facebook. If you wondered why I avoid it like the plague for the most part, that is exactly why. Things on facebook get taken out of context and someone gets upset and there is a virtual war-and chances are the people fighting this war are doing it during class. Classic example...
Isn't that hilarious? Not hilarious in the absurd way but hilarious in a "wow that's really how it is" sort of way. You don't have to thrive on drama to sometimes get caught up "in a relationship...with a loser" if you know what I'm sayin’ ;) That being said; for those of you using the f word (facebook) for its intended purposes, kudos. The rest of you... ::sighh:: I don't know how I'll deal with it. Oh yes, actually I do. I'll just continue to ignore my facebook 98% of the time.
My original game plan was to blog about my first day of work and how excited I am to be coming home for Gator Fest and the Tech Football game!!! Obviously I got off track; but, rest assured I am still excited to be going home. I have this intense urge to sign off Ron Burgundy style something along the lines of "From the entire Turning The Paige production crew, I'm Paige Parkhill go....stay classy San Angelo."
Last little note..
When I was looking for the Anchorman clip to post I found this instead, way better!
The more I watch this the funnier it gets. You go Sue Simmons!
